The Vietnam Nic opened up the suffix to non-Vietnamese organisations and individuals. Previously it had not been possible for foreign companies to register domains under .vn.

The following 2nd level suffixes are now available on an unrestricted basis:

• .net.vn
• .com.vn
• .biz.vn
• .info.vn
• .name.vn
• .pro.vn

The following suffixes are also available, however they are restricted to particular types of organisations:

.gov.vn, .health.vn, .ac.vn, .int.vn, .edu.vn, and .org.vn.
