The first new “GEO” top-level domain name extension–.berlin–has entered General Availability. GEO TLDs are launching to enable anyone with a physical address in a particular location–in this case, Berlin–to register domains in that specific local geographic community. By registering a .berlin domain, companies conducting business in Germany’s capital, or organizations serving the community of the largest city in Germany, are able register shorter and more relevant domain names for their web site(s).
If you have a presence in Germany, have German customers, or plan to do business and/or market in Germany, there has never been a better time to register .berlin domains for your brand. Given that there are currently 913,564 .de domains registered by businesses and individuals with a Berlin address, it is clear that Berlin is an important market–and localized domains name are vitally important to Berliners. With this in mind, Safenames is now offering promotional pricing for .berlin domain names.
