The NIC Chile, the Registry that operates the .cl country code TLD for Chile, recently changed the requirements for registering .cl domain names. Now, any individual, organization/company, or entity may register a .cl domain name(s) as long as they are able to provide a valid/official, nationally recognized ID (e.g., passport or tax identification). Registering additional domains allows you to strengthen your domain portfolio within a particular market. If you currently conduct business in Chile, or are planning to do so, registering country code domain names is a great way to enhance your naming strategy.
If you have any questions about this requirement change for .cl domains, or would like to register a domain name, please contact your Safenames account manager. You may also contact us in the UK at +44 1908 200022 (firstname.lastname@example.org) or in the US at +1 703 574 5313 (email@example.com).
